Michelle has been teaching for 32 years, combining this with the joys and challenges of bringing up a family.
She has been blessed to have taught a wide variety of wonderful students, aged 4 to 21, in a range of different settings: primary school, children’s hospitals, teacher training college, SEMH alternative provision, a deaf unit and in children’s homes.
Bringing a life-long love of learning and a deep sense of self-worth to these young people has always been her intention. She believes that developing positive relationships and creating imaginative learning opportunities, particularly with students experiencing life-limiting conditions, have been key to maintaining children’s emotional wellbeing in challenging circumstances.
Michelle’s experience on a bereavement helpline and as a pastoral mentor has also strengthened her understanding of the restorative, healing power of the outdoors, listening, mindfulness and meditation.
