My Special Place is in my mind
It’s somewhere I can’t leave behind.
Susan’s Special Place
It’s by a river: rocky edges,
Babbling water, reeds and sedges,
Distant hills and running stream;
Somewhere that I love to dream.
John’s Special Place
In a woodland: shady trees,
Chirping birds and buzzing bees,
Mossy softness, craggy bark,
Sunlight bright and shadow dark.
Barbara’s Special Place
Brighton seaside, salty air,
Sandy fingers, windy hair.
Crashing breakers on the pier.
Surging pebbles, water clear.
So, even when it’s far apart
My Special Place is in my heart.
